Over 40 years ago, two counties joined forces to address the looming insurance crisis and formed Trindel Insurance Fund.
Dedicated to a long-term strategy for mitigating risks of Northern California Rural Counties, Trindel has grown to 12 member counties, and maintains the independence of its members through a blending of banking and pooling self-insurance to address their risk financing needs.
Trindel is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of two designees from each member county, and an executive committee that is elected annually by the Board. The execution of the strategic plan is the responsibility of the Executive Director, who is tasked with accomplishing the mission and is assisted by an experienced team of risk management professionals.
Trindel Insurance Fund is an extension of our member counties’ staff, and we work with them in a collaborative manner to foster a culture focused on preventing losses and handling claims in the most cost-effective way for the county.
