Executive Director

Description and Details:
The Executive Director will be responsible for managing Trindel's operations, including advising the Board of Directors on coverage, retention, and reinsurance strategies, preparing budgets, equitably allocating premiums, and maintaining financial records in compliant with the California Association of Joint Powers Agencies (CAJPA) accreditation. The Executive Director will oversee a team of 17 staff, a FY 2025 $2.5 million operating budget, and a $30 million program budget. They will collaborate with 12 Northern California member counties to address unique challenges, leverage data for improvement, and mitigate risks. As the primary liaison to the Board, they will develop agendas, reports, and strategic goals while also representing the Fund at industry events. Strong leadership, financial expertise, and risk management skills are critical to achieving operational excellence and strategic alignment.

- Act as a trusted partner to the Board of Directors and member agencies.
- Understand County processes and the nuances of insurance, including liability, process claims, and workers compensation.
- Have expertise working with JPA business management and government planning and regulation.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the knowledge and abilities listed herein. Typically, this includes:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, public administration or a related field.
Experience:
Five (5) or more years in JPA management, public entity management or closely related field
Five (5) or more years working in a leadership/supervisory capacity.
Desired:
Certified Public Accountant
Risk Management Certification: Accredited Risk Management (ARM) Associate
